Unstable Confederate Soldier Causes Problem for Event Producer

The Confederate soldier in the Tuskegee Square is now apparently a potential danger and this assessment has caused a location change for an upcoming event.

Chequita Donner says she was contacted by the Tuskegee city manager’s office and informed that the Emmalee Grace Creatives Pop-up Festival has been moved to the Coach Solomon Knight Baseball Field/ Park adjacent to Tuskegee Public School. The specific address is 101 East Price Street in Tuskegee.

According to Ms. Donner, “the statue in the square is not stable nor sturdy and poses a safety risk per the Fire Marshall and the city manager’s office doesn’t anticipate it will be repaired or relocated in time for the event.”

The Emmalee Grace Creatives Pop-up Festival will be held on Saturday, August 7, 2021 from 12noon until 5:00pm.
